Wonderful William Comyns Novelty Silver Trinket Chest

A wonderful example of work by the great William Comyns. This is a gorgeous Edwardian silver jewel box, fashioned to represent a chest of drawers. The body stands on four cabriole legs and the shaped top features Reynolds Angels. The drawer has a ring handle and opens to reveal the original plush interior. As one would expect from this desirable Maker, the finish and attention to detail is first class. A superb collector's piece with a practical use. Hallmarks :- Full set to base and matching part mark to drawer and ring. Date :- London 1901. Maker :- William Comyns.
