Item Details
A truly wonderful silver jewel and ring box, assayed at the collectable Chester office. This superb Edwardian example stands on four raised legs with claw feet. The undulating body is decorated with stylized bands, which are repeated to the rim of the hinged lid. The lid features the most charming classical scene of a Lady being serenaded by a Gentleman with flowers. There are two shaped cartouches, one with engraved script initials and the other with the year of 1908, all surrounded by further shell and floral details.
With the lid open with gorgeous original silk and velvet lined interior is revealed. The inside of the lid has wonderful rich gilding, complimenting the cream of the silk and the deep green velvet edging. There is space for necklaces, brooches, earrings and bracelets, along with 5 rings.
A fabulous piece, in excellent original condition, ready to be used and grace any dressing table.
