Superb Edwardian Chester Silver 'Fishing Reel' Inkwell

This is a handsome Edwardian antique novelty silver inkwell in the shape of a fishing reel. This appealing piece has a large flat base with a lip and a banded pattern to the body and rim. The lid is hinged and finished with a steeple knop. There are four pen or quill apertures and the inkwell is fitted with a glass liner. This superior example was assayed at the sought after Chester Office and is as decorative as it is practical. A great piece of Edwardian desk ware or gift idea for a fishing enthusiast.
