Item Details
A striking and attractive silver and green guilloche enamel brooch, made by the distinguished Norwegian silversmith, Einar Modahl. This eye catching, modernist piece is designed in the shape of a leaf, with an articulated wirework stamen and spiral terminal. The leaf itself is delicately enamelled in a rich green colour, with visible symmetrical veining, adding to a naturalistic, textured effect. The edges of the leaf are silver, along with the reverse and the brooch is fitted with a hinged pin and roll over clasp.
This combination of silver and colourful enamel is typical of Norwegian mid-century modernist jewellery, often seen in works by designers such as Einar Modahl, David-Andersen and Marius Hammer, who were known for using guilloche enamel techniques and organic forms.
An excellent, collectable example of mid 20th Century jewellery, both wearable and a great gift idea.
