Rare Edwardian Silver Vesta & Sealing Wax Combo

An excellent silver vesta and sealing wax combination piece from the Edwardian era. This rare and unusual piece is of elongated rectangular form with a planished finish in the Arts & Crafts taste. There is a hinged lid at one end with oval seal, which remains unengraved. When opened it reveals a fully gilt interior, with space to house matches. The matches are stuck on the striker, along the side of the body. At the other end is an aperture containing the sealing wax column.
