Item Details
A rare piece of silver Charles Horner jewellery. This unusual piece is a Jabot pin and is fitted with two identical hallmarked silver terminals. Each has sinuous, Art Nouveau design, with a centrally mounted Amber glass paste stone in the form of a thistle. The pin is of steel and threaded at one end. With the threaded terminal removed the pin can be placed through the desired piece of clothing, before being re attached and screwed down tight.
A jabot pin is a decorative brooch featuring two ornamental ends connected by a pin, designed so the pin goes through fabric (like a scarf, lapel, blazer, shawl or dress), making the decorative ends appear to float on either side. A fantastic wearable example, making for collectors piece.
