An outstanding silver and glass butter dish from early in the reign of Queen Victoria. This superb piece has a frosted and cut glass body with twin 'lug' handles. The lid is domed and ribbed, with engraved decoration and there is a fully cast, seated cow finial. To the base is a matching silver under-plate with full hallmarks and this silver is of excellent gauge throughout. A rare and usable item of silver and glass tableware. Hallmarks:- Clear and readable. Hallmarks to all parts, including bolt to finial. Date:- Sheffield 1846 & 1858 Maker:- Henry Wilkinson & Co
