A charming novelty silver vinaigrette, dating from the Georgian Regency period. This desirable example has a richly gilded interior with a lovely and unusual pierced grille. The lid and base are engraved to represent a case or valise and feature leaves, dot and stipple patterns. There is a central cartouche to the reverse, which is vacant. An unusual and attractive collector's piece. Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Distortion to the Maker's mark. Maker :- I T ? Date :- Birmingham 1818.
