A fine 18th Century silver cream jug. This elegant piece, dating from the reign of George III, stands on a flat base with four ball feet. The shaped body is beautifully engraved with a band of fruiting vine motifs and bands of stipple engraving. To the front is a script monogram and the handle is finished with a cast acanthus leaf. Table silver other than spoons, dating from this period is becoming increasingly rare and sought after. This wonderful example is both practical and decorative and would still grace any table.
