A fabulous silver plated biscuit box or barrel from the end of the Victorian era. The cylindrical body is engraved with Greek Key pattern and ribbons. There is an oval vacant cartouche to the front and the body is mounted on a pierced and galleried base with stylized leaf feet. The hinged lid is mounted with an ebony knop and the overall look is both stylish and eye-catching. A lovely piece, as decorative as it is practical.
