A particularly attractive golden oak reading stand from the late Victorian period. This decorative and usable example is designed for table top reading, with adjustable stand to the rear for rake. The delightful pierced fretwork depicts a central vase of flowers surrounded by charming scroll work. To the front are two swivel brass retainers to help hold the pages of the book open.
