Excellent Silver & Jade Letter Opener

An excellent silver mounted letter opener or paper knife from early in the reign of George V. This useful item has an attractive shaped blade, unusually made of solid Jade. The handle is of hallmarked silver and mirrors the blade in shape. Fitted to the inside is a rather useful steel penknife, which folds away neatly. To the front are Script initials and date of 1.11.13, along with a retailer mark to the reverse. The slender and flat shape of the blade would also serve well as a bookmark.
