This is a charming example of Victorian sewing ware. This is a cased lady's sewing companion in a highly tooled, decorated and gilded case, formed to look like a book with a pull off lid. The interior is fitted and contains a number of sewing items including steel scissors and needle case, pen knife and a cotton thread sleeve. The included thimble is of hallmarked Chester silver and the rapier of hallmarked continental silver. A delightful collector's item still usable today. Thimble:- Chester 1897 - Henry Williamson Ltd.
