Item Details
A delightful piece of practical silver, dating from the first year of the reign of George V. This is a hallmarked silver flower holder for a buttonhole or lapel. The body is of flattened cylindrical shape with flared rim. This example is unusually fitted with a lightly sprung clip to the inside to hold the stem of the chosen flower securely in place. These unusual silver items were given as gifts for weddings or other occasions when a buttonhole is required. A lovely, usable collector's piece.
