Item Details
Delightful piece of practical silver, dating from the elegant Edwardian period. This is a hallmarked silver flower holder for a buttonhole or lapel. The body is of flattened cylindrical shape with a charming undulating and flared rim, in the style of a lily. This example is of patented design, having a sprung clip to the inside to hold the stem of the chosen flower securely in place. These unusual silver items were given as gifts for weddings or other occasions when a buttonhole is required. A lovely, usable collector's piece.
