A gorgeous silver butter dish from the beginning of the elegant Edwardian era. This attractive example was assayed at the Sheffield Office and is of good weight. The fluted body is of shell form, with three cast seashell feet and the handle is scallop shaped, with no inscriptions or monograms. Butter shells are lovely items, with alternate uses for condiments, bonbons and trinkets. Presented here with an associated silver and mother of pearl handled butter knife, it is a ready to go useable piece and a great gift idea. Hallmarks:- Clear and readable to to both shell and knife.
