A rare and collectable item of early 20th Century silver, with import hallmarks for 1904. This superb example has a hollow body of rectangular shape and calibrated in inches to a maximum of 8 inches. Fitted to one end is a excellent silver propelling pencil, set with an attractive Carnelian seal top, which remains unengraved. To the top of the rule is a beautiful cabochon set Garnet slider, which facilitates the sealing wax, housed at the opposite end to be moved down the interior of the rule for use. A wonderful, interesting piece of silver desk ware and a great collector's item. Hallmarks :- Some softening, but readable. Import marks. Date :- London 1904. Maker :- Robert Friederich. Silversmith & importer; originally from Pforzheim, Germany.
