An Attractive Victorian Silver & Blue Agate Brooch

An attractive Victorian silver brooch, likely of Scottish origin. This lovely star shaped example features panels of beautifully polished blue agate, surrounding a central cabochon stone, held in a claw mount. The panels of agate to further lifted with delightful foliate and stipple engraving. To the reverse is a hinged pin and C clasp. A versatile piece and great gift idea. Hallmarks :- Clear and readable - registration mark, tests as silver. Date :- 22nd April 1870.
