An excellent silver egg cup and spoon, in the original fitted box from the late Victorian period. The egg cup has a pedestal base and a flared body with repoussé decoration featuring, fruiting vines, a central mask and a cartouche with script initials to the rear. The interior is lightly gilded and the cup is paired with an attractive Old English pattern egg spoon. The spoon is engraved with acanthus leaves and floral decorations and is finished with a cartouche that has matching script initials to the cup. An unusual and practical piece, also making a wonderful Christening gift. Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Date :- London 1898 (Cup), London 1909 (Spoon).
