This is a lovely late 19th Century Victorian jewellery box finished in an attractive black leather with gilded details to the lid and body. To the front is a shield shaped escutcheon and the box retains its original lock and key. With the hinged lid open the silk lined interior is revealed, along with the original tray, which has provisions for a watch or bracelet and rings. A lovely piece, both usable and decorative.
