A Superb Silver & Cranberry Mustard Pot & Spoon

A superb and attractive silver mustard pot and spoon from the early Victorian period. This gorgeous and collectable example is of drum form with acanthus themed piercing to the sides of the body. The scroll handle follows this theme and to the front there is a vacant cartouche. The hinged lid is extensively engraved repeating the decoration of the body and has a vacant cartouche to the middle. The thumb grip is shaped and engraved with flowers. The pot is fitted with a wonderful cranberry glass liner and comes with an associated silver spoon. A wonderful collector's item, both usable and decorative. Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Date Birmingham 1855. Maker :- George Unite. Associated spoon :- London 1810.

Excellent, with no dents or splits to the silver and no chips or cracks to the liner. There is evidence of an old strengthening repair to the handle, commensurate with age and use and only mentioned for accuracy.
