A Gorgeous Silver Georg Jensen Brooch

Ref: ACA2121
Sold
A fabulous silver brooch by the great Georg Jensen. This gorgeous example is number 274 and was designed by Gundorph Albertus. It features stylized floral motifs, with elements of the famous Cactus flatware pattern, also designed by Albertus and is set within an oval frame. To the reverse are full Jensen hallmarks. The brooch is secured with a hinged pin and roll over clasp. Gundorph Albertus trained as a sculptor in the Royal Academy of Art. He joined Georg Jensen in 1911. His grasp of the potential in the malleability of silver contributed to sustaining the continued high quality of production at the smithy. His designs for flatware were adapted to a number of jewellery items and number 274 is an excellent example of this and his work. A wonderful, wearable and collectable piece. Dimensions below. Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Georg Jensen, Sterling, Denmark. 274. Date :- Circa 1960.
