A gorgeous silver preserve spoon dating the to the Edwardian period. This lovely example is in the Art Nouveau taste and features a large, rounded bowl with scalloped edges and attractive sinuous designs. To the centre is a flowering water lily and the handle is decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves. The spoon is hallmarked to the reverse of the shank with Sterling and the makers mark of Paye & Baker Manufacturing Company, an American silversmith based in North Attleboro, MA, along with full English import marks to the bowl. A charming decorative and usable piece.
Hallmarks :- Sterling, P & B to reverse. Import marks for London to the front of the bowl.
