Item Details
A fabulous pair of Irish silver fiddle pattern spoons, assayed in Dublin and dating to 1811. This quality matching duo comprises a sifting spoon and a preserve spoon and are of good gauge silver. The shaped bowls are gilded to both spoons, which especially elevates the wonderful berry decoration to the preserve spoons bowl. Both feature intricate and detailed engraving to the shanks and terminals, which unusually is of a different design to the front and reverse. There are vacant cartouches to the reverse and the hallmarks are well struck. A desirable pair, both useable and decorative in their own right.
